14-year-old Mary holds a showy wedding ceremony with 15-year-old Louis Auguste in 1770. She didn't want to get married, but she had to do that.
Mary spends a dress, shoes, a snack, liquor which gambles and finds the pleasure in waste of a party to conceal the empty life which has no affection of a political marriage.
The people get angry about her luxury finally, and she's executed.
This story based on fact. It is so sad story, I think. On the other hand, I think good book because we can know history at that time. I recommend it.
